Ranging from global charities to small businesses, her work includes focuses such as as brand development, digital strategy, and community awareness. She continues to work with start-ups, nonprofits and small organizations through her private consulting.


OCPRSA Orange County Public Relations Society of America

Orange County Public Relations Society of America: As part of the OC PRSA board of Directors, Carolyn Mae Kim chaired the Community Service committee in 2013. During this year they launched "PR Gives Back," a philanthropic campaign designed to connect OC PRSA's members with the non-profit community throughout Orange County. The success of this campaign initiative led to receiving second place in the annual PR Serving America competition from PRSA National.

Biola University Journalism & Integrated Media PR Emphasis: Helping to rebuild and grow the PR emphasis, Carolyn Mae Kim worked on a multi-year campaign designed to increase the brand of the program with internal and external audiences. Successfully growing student groups and the PR emphasis, as well as building strategic relationships with the PR professional community, this campaign was given the Award of Excellence in Community Relations and Institutional Programs at the 2012 OC PRSA PROTOS ceremony.

Chuck Colson and BreakPoint: Strategically helping BreakPoint position their new 1:00 daily radio broadcast, “The Point,” within the industry, Carolyn Mae Kim helped grow the radio placement by 90%. This was a significant benchmark of her work with BreakPoint. An additional highlight of her work with this group was her efforts in introducing a new radio speaker to the program, something that can be very damaging to the placement of radio programs. The transition successfully took place without having any loss in airing station numbers.

Sharing the Victory: Working with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Carolyn helped their radio program “Sharing the Victory” hosted by Tony Dungy grow through a strategic campaign that included a competition for SuperBowl seats. Be generating partnerships with stations around the country, the program increased station placement by 110% by the end of the competition.


Mercy Ships

Mercy Ships: Serving as the account executive for the 1:00 daily feature of Mercy Ships, Carolyn Mae Kim had the opportunity to nationally represent the program to radio stations. Managing placement of the program around the country, she also oversaw relationship development and marketing for the daily program.

AP Driving: Serving as the Director for Public Relations, Carolyn Mae Kim helped develop a robust online strategic campaign that integrated branding strategies and marketing objectives. Additionally, the campaign incorporated social and digital advertising and internal employee relations.

God Built: A one-time radio program designed to complement Steve Farrar’s God Built book, a creative radio campaign was launched to garner national awareness. Through a integrated marketing and public relations campaign, the radio campaign placed in nearly all 50 states.
